All About Catherine
I'm Catherine Nash, the founding consultant of All About Writers.
I started teaching overseas, working in London, Vicenza (Italy) and New York. It was my time in New York, working as part of a high-performing charter school network, that I moved into a role focused solely on writing, which I held for five years. This time set me on a trajectory that's eventually brought me back on Canberra with All About Writers.
I've also been fortunate to work part-time in two brilliant ACT Primary schools over the last five years, which has meant I've been able to teach a lot and also support these schools to establish strong writing communities and great teachers. It's also allowed me to develop and learn, particularly as part of a multi-school collaboration implementing Word Inquiry as an approach for spelling and vocabulary.
I am currently the Vice President of the ALEA ACT Local Council which feeds my soul and gives me heaps of great people to hang out with. In 2025, I am back to study (again), and leaning into the library space...which seems a good fit.
Hope to meet you.

I credit the opportunity I have to present at a systemic level (about effective writing pedagogy) to the time you spent to develop my skills, knowledge and new found passion for writing.

Well you certainly received some positive feedback from the staff! It must be pleasing to see the growth in the staff and enjoy such success when delivering the writing program. You made what I thought was going to be difficult look easy.

Mission Control, Sydney Story Factory
Catherine Nash, one of the star volunteers at the Sydney Story Factory, has run almost 25 professional development sessions for our volunteer base over the past four years, tackling topics as diverse as the fundamentals of writing to engaging disengaged students. Her workshops are always very well attended and received, with many volunteers signing up multiple times. As a workshop leader she is well organised, professional, incredibly friendly, has a great sense of humour and above all provides the perfect information in a fun and interactive way that is remembered. We can't recommend her services highly enough.
